Survivors And Victims Empowered (SAVE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to help prevent the criminal neglect and physical, emotional and sexual abuse of children and to help survivors of these childhood traumas. SAVE's purpose is to join with other organizations in both the public and private sector to stop the abuse of children and remedy the damage caused by this abuse, to raise awareness of these problems, and to offer and implement positive solutions. Through a variety of program services we are working to end the damage caused by abuse.
SAVE publishes the Child Protection Guide (CPG), which includes definitions and symptoms of abuse, reporting procedures, safety tips, referral resources, screening procedures and more. The CPG has been distributed, free of charge, to millions of parents, teachers, and others who work with children, through schools, churches and civic groups.
Both a searchable and downloadable copy are on this website. We are currently reworking our web site to display more child abuse related information digitally, including back issues of Treating Abuse Today, a journal for therapy professionals.
Other program services include Toys Not Tears and Project PARK (Prevent Abuse, Restore Kids). Toys Not Tears is used to solicit items year-round to donate to abused children, particularly those in foster care. Project PARK was created to restore abused children by providing activities that serve to build self-esteem.
